Anchorage, Alaska – September 23, 2024 – The Optimist Club of Anchorage is proud to announce that applications are now open for the annual Essay Contest, Oratorical Contest, and the Communications Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH). These exciting opportunities allow local youth to showcase their writing, speaking, and communication skills while earning substantial scholarships.
Essay Contest & CCDHH
Participants in the Essay Contest and the Communications Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing have the chance to compete for scholarships of up to $2,500. Both contests aim to empower youth to express their ideas on important topics, with a special focus on encouraging growth and self-confidence.
Oratorical Contest
For those interested in public speaking, the Oratorical Contest offers a remarkable opportunity to earn up to $22,500 in scholarship awards. Contestants will deliver speeches that inspire optimism and hope, competing at local, regional, and national levels.
